Key Job Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the Contractor’s electrical engineering for the Topsides,Onshore Facilities (Offshorescope),and the Offshore Electrical Power Systemdesigns comply with the Contract requirementsincluding codes and standards.Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.

  • Plan and schedule the electrical engineering deliverables to enableefficient project execution,ensuring technical alignment and compliance withQatargas operational policies, standards ofbusiness conduct and projectmanagement system.

  • Supervises and ensures that the Contractor’s electrical SafetyTopsides, Onshore Facilities(Offshore scope) Engineering designs comply withthe Contract requirements including codes andstandards. Provide guidance to thecontractor to promote compliance.

  • Participate to key design workshop and ensure that electrical Safetydesign recommendation arecorrectly implemented and actions closed before theend of EPCI (Lessons Learned, ValueEngineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineeringcriticality assessment, etc.).

  • Supervises the Engineering electrical interfaces for the Topsides,Onshore Facilities (Offshorescope) and Offshore power loop and the followingteams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management,the Jacket, the pipelines from thetopsides perspective, the Onshore Project Team.

  • Manage the Composite cable purchase order with the EPC Contractor andSystem Vendor inaccordance with the roles and responsibilities given in thecontract to ensure safe and seamlessintegration of the systems without anydisturbance to the existing operating facilities.

  • Supports NFXP Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring thecontractor’s progress on deliveryof the required documents in the Electricaldiscipline both for the Topsides and Pipeline Scopes.

  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect the disciplinesinvolved in delivery of theelectrical items related to Topsides and PipelinesEngineering, and ensures endorsement ofTechnical deviations to Companyspecifications when required.

  • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes inthe contractors designor deviations from the company directives


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (Advanceddegree is desirable.)

  • 10 years’ of relevant experience as Electrical Lead, in a major projectenvironment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge ofengineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safetycriteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.

  • Previous knowledge of Brownfield engineering and execution required.
