Topsides Delivery Lead

Job Purpose      

  • Ensuring technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes and to provide Functional Safety design support with full integration into existing facilities.

  • Assure and enable the Topsides Fabrication execution planning by the CTR for several Wellhead and Riser Platforms, to ensure the successful delivery of the Project meeting HSSE, Quality and Schedule targets while maintaining strong relations CTR,  subcontractors and vendors.

  • Provide excellent knowledge of the CTR obligations enable the CTR to execute the work by monitoring performance and exercising appropriate controls, identifying issues early and engaging the CTR appropriately.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Topsides Delivery Lead is responsible for the construction of assigned topsides facilities, through the Contractor, including fabrication, installation, and Mechanical Completion of piping, electrical, instrumentation, telecoms, mechanical equipment, and other associated systems.

  • Assigned facilities will include three to four Riser Platform or Wellhead Platform Topsides

  • Interface with Contractor’s on a day-to-day basis including meeting HSE, Quality and Schedule targets.

  • Actively participate on the site and with Company and Contractor Teams, lead/assist in preparation and development of internal construction planning and execution deliverables and provide input in the review and approval of contractor’s detailed plans and procedures. Spot check the high-risk procedures and Work Method Statements focusing on ensuring compliance with Contract Specifications and work will be executed safely.

  • Pro-active monitoring of engineering and procurement activities for these modules and facilitating issue resolution to ensure timely delivery of engineering and procurement by CTR to the Fabrication Yards, followed by owning these Topsides at Site.

  • Monitor and appraise Contractor’s performance and recommend corrective action to be taken where deficiencies are detected; verify effective actions are implemented.

  • Verify and participate in effective readiness reviews for assigned Topsides and follow up, focussing on HSSE, Quality and Efficient execution .

  • Verify construction of assigned Topsides, including monitoring quantity of supervision and craft, confirming preparation of Field Installation Work Packages, material matching and management, dimensional control, raising Site Queries and providing input to responses to Field Design Modifications and Technical Deviations, support punching and close out by Company, ensuring carry-over work is identified and reported and liaising with the marine warranty surveyor contracted by Company.

  • Participate pro-actively and lead by example in building a quality culture where all are proactively taking actions to prevent quality issues and to meet quality contractual objectives and agreed KPIs.

  • Report progress, performance, initiatives, issues, and challenges to Fabrication Head and Construction Division Manager as appropriate.  Verify and analyse fabrication schedules, progress and quantity curves, manpower needs and outlooks for assigned Topsides, with the support of the Project Controls Team.

  • Coordinate site interfaces between contractors (and subcontractors) with Completions and Operations team members

  • Provide input to appraisal process for assigned site personnel

  • Participate in lessons learned reviews and provide input to close-out report sections upon completion of work

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or fabrication and construction or equivalent working experience in a similar roll for a minimum of 20 years in the fabrication yard for the client and major EPC contractors.

  • 15 years’ experience working in engineering in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.

  • 10 years’ experience of working on a fabrication or construction site for a client or EPC contractor in a similar role.

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience working in Indonesia is preferred, 5 years’ working in Asian countries is required.
