Head - Craft Training

Job Purpose      

  • This role provides direction, guidance and leadership to NFXP Onshore PMT as well as to the EPC CONTRACTORS on all Craft Training related matters and provides oversight of the execution of the EPC CONTRACTOR’s Craft Training program.

  • Supports EPC CONTRACTORS in the development, implementation, execution, performance evaluation and measuring, and continual improvement of the Craft Training Program (theory and practical).

  • Provides direct assistance and support to the NFXP Onshore PMT Site Manager in championing the Project’s Craft training and Craft competency Program and reports relevant performance metrics and recommendations for improvement on regular basis to ensure that the Site Manager can effectively champion the Craft Training program.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Supports the NFXP Onshore EPC projects in all craft training and craft competency assurance. Craft competency has a direct impact on the safety, quality and productivity of craft works.

  • Shall be flexible and team-oriented. Act as the key focal point for all craft training and craft competency and drive the overall program in coordination with EPC’s.

  • Provides strategic advice and support to the PMT Site Manager and all PMT and EPC Construction Managers as required on all aspects of the implementation of the craft training and craft competency program.

  • Oversee the implementation of craft training strategy, goals and objectives including theoretical training, practical training and craft competency assessment.

  • Champion on-site craft training performance with CONTRACTORS. Daily attendance of Tool-Box Talks (TBT) and Task Instructions (TI), providing coaching and leadership to CONTRACTOR and its SUBCONTRACTOR Craft Supervisors to ensure these fundamental craft competency tools are utilized effectively in the field.

  • Provide oversight and guidance for CONTRACTOR craft training and craft competency programs and reviews and comments on CONTRACTOR’s supporting craft training documents and tools.

  • Supports the PMT and CONTRACTORS joint audit teams as a subject matter expert (SME) during craft training and craft competency related audits and performance reviews.

  • Participate in relevant site safety reviews, walkthroughs and compliance inspections at site as required related to craft training and craft competency.

  • Participate in craft competency related incident investigations and acts as a SME in these investigations, to propose mitigation measures. Maintains craft training related documentation, such as compliance reports and craft training records, which are generated by the Craft Training Head as part of his/her job performance.

  • Ensure the continual improvement of the CONTRACTOR’s craft training program and prepares craft training related performance reports, charts and trend analyses, and advises on improvement actions and remediation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate level University degree in a technical discipline, e.g. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, etc.; or 15 years hands on experience working on major projects with involvement in craft training.

  • International recognized Train the Trainer Certificate.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years industry relevant experience in a technical discipline with clear understanding of craft competency requirements.

  • Development of craft training programs, tools and techniques.

  • Experience in craft training competency assessments.

  • International project experience with Tier-1 EPC Contractors or Client, involved in the construction of onshore production facilities (i.e., greenfield and brownfield scope).

  • Sound knowledge of the project execution process in large-scale project environments (expenditure >US$ 1 Bn).
