Job Purpose:

  • Deliver the most cost-effective method of performance forproject administration, controls, cost and schedule through timely execution ofkey activities and compliance with standardised processes.

Key JobAccountabilities

  • Provide management and technical direction for all facets ofthe division (scheduling, planning, reporting, change order cost estimating andcost engineering) by establishing a set of project control procedures,guidelines and flow charts to suit project requirements and needs to supportmanagement decision making process.

  • Lead project control activities, coordinating input from PMTfunctions such as engineering, construction, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring effective project control measuresare executed by the Contractor and sub-contractor organisations, withparticular emphasis on schedule management, planning and progress monitoring,recommend modifications to management to ensure Company and PMT standards andrequirements are met.

  • Provide an interface between Project Manager, BusinessManager, PMT members and EPC Contractor with respect to cost and scheduleperformance, reporting and approvals.

  • Responsible for implementing and updating the ProjectControl Plan, as required.

  • Coordinate the collecting, consolidating, analysing andreporting all project cost and schedule, control, trend and progressmeasurement information to ensure overall project status is assessed andpotential problem areas identified. Produces cost estimates on the project asrequested by Project Leadership.

  • Review project changes evaluating any schedule and/or costimpact; responsible for incorporating the effect and impact of approved changesinto overall cost and schedule stewardship and reporting.

  • Manage project workforce planning and resourcing, ensuringchanges are managed fairly using consistent decision making criteria across theproject.

  • Monitor Contractor’s performance and progress in areas ofproject controls, scheduling, reporting, progress monitoring and costestimating assessing any discrepancies and reverting to Contractor forclarifications/corrections. Establishes and maintains appropriate planningsystems, fully integrated, and appropriate for the project.

  • Review invoices for compliance and completeness, liaise withthe contractors and/or suppliers and the Accounts Payable Department in theresolution of queries and disputes. Provides data for accounting and auditingfunctions and ensures EPC Contractor’s accounting systems meet Company auditrequirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business related subject.

  • 12 years’ experience in a major project environment withinthe oil and gas industry, with exposure in business management includingproject controls, cost and schedule development, tender preparation andcontract management and 3 years supervising multi discipline and multi-culturalteams and as head of control for mega projects.
