Senior Structural Engineer

Key tasks and Duties:

• Assume responsibility and represent the design departmentfor all aspects related to structural engineering.

• Provide leadership in all relevant departmental functions.

• Lead external & internal coordination pertinent tostructural inception & design.

• Review, comment/recommend acceptance or otherwise of relatedconsultants’ submissions from conceptual design through to design completion.

• Maintain quality control and quality standards in all workoutput, computations, designs, drawings, plans, estimates and reports. Ensurethat technical tasks undertaken in accordance with the Ashghal’s quality,safety and project management / engineering procedures and controls.

• Use technical expertise to help team members in designactivities, resolve any technical queries which might arise, check and approvedesigns and drawings.

• Enforce corporate QA/QC policies. Ensure highest qualityfulfilment of project related contractual requirements.

• Contribute to the development of standard details andspecification updates.

• Comprehensive responsibility for management and control ofrelated functions in in-house projects, including detailed scope definition andinitiation, work progress and completion and staff management.

• Performance of actual design duties as directed.

• Performance of other related duties as per managementinstructions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc / BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from arecognized university.

• CEng, PE, PEng or equivalent Chartership is an advantage.

• 15 years of demonstrable relevant experience in design &construction of infrastructure projects, with satisfactory experience in allrelated disciplines

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience withmanagement capacity.

• Very good knowledge and experience with international &GCC design and construction code

• Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would beadvantageous

• Excellent written and verbal English language communicationskills

• Ability to understand, appreciate and adapt to variousengineering practices.
