Key tasks and Duties:

Assume responsibility andrepresent Design Department for all aspects related to highway engineering.

Provide leadership in allrelevant departmental functions.
-
Lead external & internalcoordination pertinent to highway inception & design.
-
Review, comment / recommendacceptance or otherwise of related consultants' submissions.
-
Comprehensive responsibility formanagement and control of related functions in in-house projects, includingdetailed scope definition and initiation, work progress and completion andstaff management.
-
Liaise with utilities providersand other stakeholders.
-
Performance of actual designduties when directed.
-
Performance of other relatedduties as per management instructions.

Supervise and control theactivities of assigned personnel including allocating work and determiningpriorities

Supervise a team of Engineersresponsible for the review of designs
-
To assist in initiating new workand preparation of design briefs to Consultants
-
Provision of technical advise
-
Working knowledge of writtenand/or spoken Arabic would be advantageous
-
Overseeing / preparing designreports, management or any other reports as directed.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
BSc / BEng or equivalent degreein Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

CEng, PE, PEng or equivalentChartership is an advantage.
-
15 years of demonstrable relevantexperience in design & construction of infrastructure projects, withsatisfactory experience in all related disciplines
-
Minimum of 4 years of relevantworking experience with management capacity.

Very good knowledge andexperience with international & GCC design and construction code
-
Working knowledge of written andspoken Arabic would be advantageous
-
Excellent written and verbalEnglish language communication skills
-
Qualification in projectmanagement is considered an advantage
-
Satisfactory exposure tointernational and GCC conditions of Engagement / Contract.
