To carryout routine and non-routine sampling, testing andanalysis activities to support Operations at Ras Laffan gas production plant andfacilities


Performs a variety of laboratory activities including sampling, testing and analysis using special laboratory apparatus and instruments and in accordance with established testing methods and instructions. This includes tests and analysis performed on intermediate streams (hydrocarbon gases and liquids, water) as well as tests on finished products.




Receives work schedules and instructions from the Head of Laboratory Obtains necessary laboratory tools, materials, instruments and equipment to carry out the job. Ensure that work is completed according to specific instructions, applicable work methods and procedures, and in compliance with QHSE standards.




Prepares sampling solutions; and takes both routine and non-routine samples in accordance with sampling procedures, as per schedules or ad-hoc requirements of the operations. Prepares calibration charts for testing methods and taking samples from various points as required.




Keeps accurate records of all laboratory activities carried out such as samples, results and analysis, plotting of significant results and other related documents Ensure that results are entered into Laboratory Information Management System and reported in a timely manner.




Maintains laboratory equipment and apparatus in proper condition, and reports damage or malfunction to supervisor for necessary action.




Maintains laboratory area in clean and good order. Observes strict safety rules and practices while working on various testing apparatus, equipment and chemicals.




Complies with all company Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.




Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived as unsafe and if in doubt, consults supervisor/manager before proceeding.




Participates in HSE meetings and company QHSE promotional programs.




Reports all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE Department if supervisor/manager is not available.




Performs other similar or related duties as assigned by Head of Laboratory or Laboratory Systems Specialist.

Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

Diploma (2yrs) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or minimum of two year full time specialist training in petrochemical laboratory discipline


Relevant Certification in the use of special laboratory apparatus and instruments such as gas chromatography, spectrophotometers, infra red analysers, auto flash tester and other instruments and apparatus would be a great advantage




Minimum of 6 years experience in applied laboratory activities in Oil & Gas with 3 years in a gas production and processing plant


Receives work directions , reports work progress, discuss and resolves issues
