Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment, control systems, switch gears and panels in the assigned area in order to facilitate uninterrupted operations.

1)    Supervise the activities of the assigned Electrical technicians at the assigned area. Perform supervisory duties at the level established by management for the position.

2)    Receive daily maintenance and repair work schedule, allocate work to subordinates, check progress, providing instructions and advice as necessary and ensure that all electrical tests and runs are carried out prior to handing back equipment or system  to operations.

3)    Participate in and personally carry out complex tests, repairs, maintenance, calibration and start-up of systems upon completion of maintenance work.        

4)    Arrange and accept the Electrical Permit to Work System “PTW” from the concerned issuing authority prior to commencement of any electrical maintenance activity, as Performing Authority Supervisor.

5)    Ensure availability of tools, spares, consumables and proper use of various types of electrical equipment, tools and PPE specified in PTW.

6)    Ensure the drawing and documents are up to date in his assigned area and the maintenance sheets and equipment history records are completed and filed properly.

7)    Report all incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or a HSE representative.

8)    Direct necessary Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities to ensure “safe systems of work” and “safe conditions” are in place within area of responsibility, in addition to ensuring assigned staff comply with all HSE policies & procedures and periodically conducting risk assessments, audits, HSE meetings, emergency drills, etc.

9)    Participate in on-the-job training and development of assigned Qatari nationals, monitor their progress and make recommendations on how to support their learning and progression.

10)  Perform other similar or related duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Candidates with Diploma (3 Years) may be considered in exceptional cases if the candidate possesses very good knowledge and communication and IT skills.


Minimum Experience:

§  Minimum of 10 years experience in Electrical Maintenance in Oil & Gas plant.

§  8 years’ relevant experience in in electrical maintenance of an Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Production Plant or Refinery, including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing supervisory responsibilities.
