Head Construction Superintendent

Job Purpose      

  • The position is responsible and accountable for allconstruction activities pertaining to the scope of EPC-1 from detailed designand engineering through interfaces management, construction/pre-commissioningactivities at RLIC Site to hand-over to the Commissioning and Completion Teamsin accordance with the Completion Sequence.

  • First located at the EPC Contractor Doha offices, for aperiod of about 12 months, the position shall then relocate permanently to Siteto supervise the execution of the fabrication and construction works, ensuringcompliance with the approved construction sequence and a flawless transitionwith the pre-commissioning, then commissioning activities.

  • The position reports to the EPC Construction DivisionManager and will have Delegation Of Authority when the EPC-1 ConstructionDivision Manager is out of offices. This position will have full delegation toundertake all works, activities and coordination pertaining to construction.

  • The position shall interact daily with its counterpart atEPC Contractor on the premise that both COMPANY and EPC-1 Contractor have“mirror” organizations.

  • The position includes a close coordination and interactionwith the Construction Division Manager, the Area Division Manager(s), theengineering, interfaces, quality, procurement, commissioning, completion andoperations Division Managers for key activities such as: 3D Model Reviews,Constructability Reviews, Construction Sequence Reviews, Completion Sequence,Advanced Work Packaging.

  • The position includes a close coordination and interactionwith the Head of Planning or Planning and Schedule Specialist(s) in order tokeep control on the schedule and key Project and Progress Milestones.

  • The position includes the review, comment and approval ofall construction related deliverables submitted by the EPC-1 Contractor.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Responsible and accountable to review, comment and approveConstruction Execution and related procedures, specifications and deliverablesprepared by the EPC-1 Contractor.

  • Leadership and “work as a team” behaviour and attitudetowards EPC Contractor as well as its Subcontractors to achieve Projectobjectives.

  • Visibility to the Team in particular during the detaileddesign and engineering phase to influence on the technical decisions so as toachieve a flawless construction execution and transition to commissioning.

  • Deputized to the Construction Division Manager, includingdelegation of authority.

  • Works in a large fully integrated but complex Project environmentin which the incumbent strives to achieve best in class Safety, Health,Environmental & Security performances by creating a culture that encourageseveryone to perform their best every day on every task.

  • Working in a highly visible Project environment with largecapital exposure for EPC Contractor, its Vendors and Subcontractors.

  • Working with an EPC Contractor organized as a JointVenture that require additional skills to ensure that the EPC-1 Contractor JVDirectorate serves the interests of the Operating Centres that will require aclose coordination and interaction with the EPC-1 Project Manager, the EPC-1Project Division Manager and the Area Division Manager(s).

  • Working effectively within established procedures andparticipates in all important meetings and workshops (e.g. weekly and monthlymeetings, 3D Model reviews, Constructability, Construction and CompletionSequence Reviews).

  • Works in a dynamic but multiple locations team environmentthat has high expectations for flawless Project Execution in safety, quality,cost and schedule performances, which requires the incumbent to demonstratecapacity to take workload, work with accuracy, take initiatives, be inventiveand have the ability to multi-task as essential skills.

  • Demonstrates willingness to tackle a variety of tasks inresponse to evolving Project needs.

  • Hands-on approach towards the works and activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • More than twenty (20) years in Project Execution, with astrong background in fabrication, construction and management of large greenfield construction activities.

  • Proven experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP)methodology and systems completion management and associated databases.

  • Experience with multi-cultural type Projects.

  • Experience with LNG Projects.
