Job Description                        –     Expediting Officer

 

PartA:  Job Specification

Job Purpose

·      Produce professional expediting and logistics services and develop solutions for critical decisions that have high value impact on the organization.  

 

 



Key Job Accountabilities

 

 

1.       Achieve assigned logistics and expediting within the agreed performance criteria that can be complex in nature and ensure quality, cost and time targets.

 

2.       Inspect and review logistics deliveries for completeness and liaise with suppliers, logistic vendors and end users to resolve any outstanding issues.

 

3.       Analyze and acheive the requirements of all shipping and commercial documentations for all deliveries and identify correct approvals, handling and packaging.

 

4.       Monitor logistic vendors and provide reports on performance, costs and product development.

 

5.       Resolve general logitics problems, variations, and dispute issues, with an appreciation of the overall value-effectiveness of solutions.

 

6.       Acheive logistics and expediting activities between suppliers, logistic vendors, and end users to satisfy business requirements and targeted savings.

 

7.       Establish ethical relationships with suppliers and logistic vendors to ensure the most cost effective solutions.

 

8.       Propose commercial commitments between and logistics suppliers to deliver required materials and recommend the best mode of transport.

 

 

 


PartB:  Person Specification – MinimumRequirements

 

Qualifications

 

·         Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Commercial discipline or equivalent.

Knowledge and/or Experience

 

·         4 years’ direct experience in logistics/procurement within the oil and gas industry.

 

Technical and Business Skills

·         High standard of written and spoken English.

·         Excellent in written and spoken English.

·         Computer literacy (MS Office) including the use of software applications, including SAP.

·         Planning and target delivery skills.

·         Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with internal/external clients.
