Job Purpose


·      Reporting to the Construction and Installation Manager, the Offshore Installation Lead  is responsible for leading the NFE Offshore installation requirements to ensure objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule. And to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards applicable.





Key Job Accountabilities

1.       Provide demonstrable competency and previous experience to advise, make recommendations and Leads as the Project Focal Point regarding the following Project Installation analysis;

Loadout, Transportation and installation, incl

·         Weight Control

·         Yard mooring and transportation barge(s) ballast.

·         Seafastening.

·         Tow Stability.

·         Offshore Mooring(s)

·         Installation Lift and Positioning.

·         Upending Ballasting/Flooding.

·         On bottom Stability.

·         Pushover.

·         Piling and Driveability.

·         In addition to the above the Offshore Installation Manager shall be expected to provide complete competency and be fully conversant with the following analysis;

·         Jacket Fatigue.

·         Field Seismic conditions and potential.

·         Vessel impact.

·         General Marine Operations

·         Inspection and Audit of Marine Vessels, including vessel suitability for workscope(s)

2.       Focal point at site, for implementing safety leadership and safe execution of the work.

3.       Assist the Jacket Manager in executing Project responsibilities.

4.       Manage all Offshore Installation requirements of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.

5.       Ensure technical interfaces with Project PMT, Site PMT and Contractors are managed effectively.

6.       Support external interfaces with RLC and other operators.

7.       Leads all  Offshore Installation requirements of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.

8.       Schedule and arrange technical support to shareholders.

9.       Lead, monitor, approve, Contractor  and installation work.

10.   Ensure Contractor design documents and other submittals are reviewed and approved in accordance with the EPC contract requirements.

11.   Ensure technical aspects of the Risk Management Plan are managed effectively.

12.   Review and approve design changes, specification revisions and exceptions in accordance with the Project Management of Change (PMOC) processes.

13.   Coordinate all onshore  and installation changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.

14.   Provide technical support to procurement activities.

15.   Ensure the onshore  expectations of the Quality Assurance plan are met.

16.   Prepare technical presentations for review with senior management.

17.   Ensuring full compliance with all mandatory regulations and procedures relating to Qatargas Production Operations.

18.   Manage emergencies.

19.   Promoting and maintaining a safe environment

20.   Making sure that the on-going development and training of employees is up to date, and equipment is maintained to a high standard.


PartB:  Person Specification – MinimumRequirements





·         Preferred Engineering Degree or relevant on the job experience

·         Extensive Offshore experience in a Supervisory Role

·         Required to have offshore survival certificate and be able to pass an offshore medical evaluation.

·         OPITO certification is considered a plus.



Knowledge and/or Experience


·         Recommended 20 years of experience in discipline with at least 10 years demonstrated senior engineering experience in major capital projects.

·         Offshore experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry

·         Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from  variety of cultural backgrounds

·         Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the  of Offshore LNG production facilities

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT

·         Application and in depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards



Technical and Business Skills

·         A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English

·         Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications

·         Ability to work on or be based on a platform or vessel.
